Thank You NP-SL

Dear Colleagues,

This is yet another great occasion to remember our loved ones and open yet another chapter of our lives in 2012, my heart remembers each and every one of you in a special way. All of you (NPSL)are special to me and I treasure and cherish the friendship/working relation we have built.

I know time goes so fast (2yrs 8months), life asks so much. No wonder, friends get out of touch but, in my heart; deep true, unseen friendship stays forever green.

I pledge to keep in touch with you for; faith makes things possible, hope keeps us moving, love makes us one and trust keeps us together. It is through inspirational friends/colleagues like you that we maintain a smile on one another face.

There is always the start, middle and end OF several things in life, I happened to be almost in the middle but definitely at the end of NPSL and it is a great pleasure working with you all and I wish you all the best the future holds. I also extend my warm greetings to those 1 never met who were there from the start because if not for them I wont be in the END.

Fond Farewell

Dear colleagues,

It is with great personal sadness that I say farewell to you all, not least because I had hoped beyond hope to be allowed back into the country one last time to be able to say my thank you’s and good-bye’s in person. I still hope one day that may be possible and I look forward to that day! In the meantime, I want to thank you all who are still there and/or still connected to NP for all your brave and steadfast efforts to help the people of Sri Lanka in their hour of need.

I know very well that the need is still there in many cases, and that our work is not yet over. I have committed NP to finding new and innovative ways of providing appropriate support to those in Sri Lanka who need it most in the months to come, and while my fervent hope is that the situation will continue to improve such that our support is eventually no longer needed, I am also ready to re-open this project as and when it may become necessary.

For now, we must put to rest this particular chapter in NP’s history with Sri Lanka, even to enable a new chapter to be possible. It has been a great honour for me to have worked with and met so many of you during my time at NP, and I do not want this to be an end to our relationship  - it is a new beginning! So please stay in touch, keep me posted on what you are all doing in your personal lives as well as with the state of affairs more generally, and let’s continue working together for a more peaceful and safe Sri Lanka for all Sri Lankans…

Yours,
Tim Wallis,
Executive Director,
Nonviolent Peaceforce
My dear Steve, Thank you for your mail with the news of  closing down your office in Colombo. We remain ever united in our efforts towards true peace in the true way.

With my prayers and wishes for a 2012 with God's dearest blessings.

Farewell

Dear Steve and colleagues.

We are sorry that you will be leaving--prematurely, as the worst is over, but we have still to cross the hill, or is it the valley, and reach the promised land where there will be no more disappearances, abductions and killings... so we will miss your presence at this time and for some time to come.

Jehan and all at NPC

Thank you NPSL

Dear Colleagues,

Like all my remaining colleagues at NPSL this my last day at the NPSL office.

I am very much thankful to Nonviolent Peace force, giving me an opportunity to be a part of the senior management team and contribute to the mission of NPSL.

After the end of my three years duration at NPSL, I am leaving  NP with a professionally grown up person. I must say thanks to all my colleagues which I had the privilege to work with them.
Thank you very much to all of you.

I will share a poem written by Adeko, on fare well which IS very well, fitting to my inner felling. Pl enjoy it.

Bernard

Goodbye, Farewell
.
Farewell is beautiful
A glimpse into the future

Farewell is wonderful

It sets for Adventure

Goodbye is sad

A dive into the past

Goodbye is hard

It memories cast

For old faces must go

Yet new places to go

A chapter opened

And a chapter closed

O Farewell O farewell

How nice if I could tomorrow tell

O Goodbye O goodbye

In thou sweet memories lie

Happy that we at CSR were able to associate with NP

Dear Friends of NP - Complements of the season!

Let me take this opportunity to thank all of you for the Courageous work you have done to help those who needed protection and accompaniment. Great work.

Happy that we at CSR were able to associate with NP and wish to continue the relationship in helping persons who still need some 'place of refuge' in difficult times.

Life is to be protected and promoted. We know how much you will be feeling when you have to say 'good bye' to Sri Lanka. But you can be Proud of your Services rendered to the most needy ones and they will and others who have associated with you too will remember NP for the work accomplished here in Sri Lanka.

We wish you all the best and God' Blessings. May your services be extended to others who are in need, until this world becomes a 'peaceful' place for every body to live happily as brothers and sisters.

With best wishes, Fr. Rohan Silva CSR

Thanks for your work!!

Hello,

I was in Sri Lanka as international election observer in 2005 and for first time learned people of NP and how they work. Since then I write and talk about NP in Germany and I am voluntary coordinator of German NP Working Group.

I know many people who worked for NP in Sri Lanka, you as the last ones are not among them.

Nevertheless I want to deeply thank you all!

Stephan BrĂ¼es
coordinator of NP Working Group Germany
member of board of NP MO Bund fuer Soziale Verteidigung

My life has been enriched by knowing all of you.

My dear colleagues and friends:

It is with deep humility and gratitude that I thank you for your work in
advancing peace not only in Sri Lanka but providing lessons for the world
in nonviolent peacekeeping.

I wish you grace as you close out this year and hope and resolve as you
enter 2012.

My life has been enriched by knowing all of you. Please stay in touch.
I attach a recent reflection on hope.

With hope, resolve, and gratitude,     Mel

Farewell and all the best!

Dear Friends,
All the best to all of you!  Thank you for your time with NP, and I hope that there are some good memories from that time that you will be able to take with you!

With kind regards
Christine

Leaving but not Forgotten

We are now packing the final boxes and giving away the few remaining assets here in our Dehiwala office. We are hoping to hand over two small donations to the villages Women's Rural Development Societies of Karaveddy, Batticaloa and  Muthumari Nagar, Vavuniya North, before we finally close the bank accounts tomorrow and hand over our office to its owners.

Nonviolent Peaceforce has been one of the few NGO's, known in many parts of the worst affected areas conflict areas, for remaining with the local communities when the going got really tough. We cannot claim to have stopped violence or made a big difference to the outcome of the protracted conflict but many individual testimonies paid tribute to the change that we were able to bring into the lives of a few.

We now leave Sri Lanka having completed a sustained period of training for many local leaders to improve their skills in bridging the gulf between communities in conflict. We hope they will remain in contact with us and build networks of sustainable action in building a more peaceful Sri Lanka.
